Below is an experiment in Flash Panoramas. I'm using the Papervision3D engine which just entered public beta. It's an incredibly robust 3D engine for Flash that has an enormous amount of potential. The sample below is just a small example of what can be achieved. This is a low-resolution rendering and it requires the newest Flash 9 plugin to view properly. Click and drag the mouse to control movement.

This is just a small sampling of what is still to come. The above example shows a cubic panorama of the ballroom of the Beijing Hotel in China during the 2005 ICCV conference. The panorama was provided by Pablo d'Angelo who does some fantastic panoramic work. It was then converted into a 6-sided cubic format and imported dynamically into Flash. The program is built in such a way that the six images can easily be swapped out with any other panorama of the same format.
